Lexington Kentucky Here I Come

September 6th-8th I’ll be a signing author at Lexington Legendary Book Bash in Lexington Kentucky. I am looking forward to this event because the signing will be on Saturday, September 7th, my 60th birthday. It’s being held in the Thoroughbred Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Lexington. I’m relieved because a friend from work will be going with me as my assistant. She’ll set up my table and help me with it.

Today, I was signed up for and had planned to attend The Jackson Civil War Muster in my hometown of Jackson Michigan as a signing author. I couldn’t find a person to help me set up my table and help me take it down. The evet was outside and it was supposed to be 84 degrees today so there was that. There was only a 10% chance of rain–too much of a chance for me.

I had my car packed thanks to my home helper. I had both a beach umbrella and a golf umbrella packed, but still, I didn’t have a helper so I didn’t go. When I drove over to the event to let the event coordinator know that I couldn’t make it to the muster as a vendor, the tent was set up away from the parking lot. I didn’t feel like finding a parking spot, getting my walker out, and walking over to the tent to let them know why I haven’t checked in yet. So, I drove home and sent the organizer an email explaining my situation.
