I am so thrilled and thankful that I was able to go shopping in Costco for the first time since September of 2022. I went to Costco because I had a coupon worth over $44 that needed to be spent before the expiration date. With trepidation, I crossed the parking lot and entered the outer doors of the store. I carefully unlocked the brace on my left leg and sat on one of the shopping electric cart.
I puttered around all over the store. I didn’t get nervous again until I asked for a carryout person to help me. When I arrived at my van, the carryout man put my groceries in the side of the vehicle. Now was the moment I dreaded. Could I get up by myself and stand without aid? Taking my time, I placed my hands on the seat and the steering mechanism and rose, much to my surprise. I praised the Lord and thanked the young man. He stayed and waited until I was safely in my vehicle before leaving with the cart–off to help some other poor soul.
I drove home with peace in my heart and a smile on my lips. Maybe next time I can try shopping at Sam’s Club.
